Alas, Summer is Ending...There is Much to Do
Procrastination has become my greatest vice since Summer began.
When I was a kid, I wasn’t allowed to procrastinate. My parents wouldn’t allow it. Nose-to-the-grindstone was the motto.
Now that I’m an adult, I’m making the rules (up as I go along).
I can’t say that the heat has been an excuse. We’ve been blessed in the Mid-Atlantic region this year.
No, it’s just plain old laziness. I don’t feel like doing something. It seems to be too much effort.
I’ll admit I feel guilty. I should be grinding away at whatever. I don’t want to.
What comes from procrastination is a pile of stuff to do. It doesn’t go anywhere, it just sits there waiting for you.
I’ve been scurrying around like a squirrel gathering things for projects that need to get done. Or, for things I plan to do in the future. There they sit.
Until this past week.
The weather here has gotten a bit Autumnal. I’m finding energy in spurts. Summer is my least favorite season. I’m a Fall-Winter person.
With this lovely weather, I’ve suddenly gotten creative. Very creative and energized, thankfully.
Besides, I’ve procrastinated so much that it’s time to pay the piper.
This Tuesday, I’m seeing my PCP after rescheduling around 4 times. I hate going! If I didn’t need medicine for my blood pressure, I’d never go. They’ve got me there with the power of the pill supply.
I’m happy that I’ve gotten some of the pile to go down. Little bits here and little bits there.
I’m sharing this as a post for a couple of reasons.
One, I have personal life events that will be taking my time.
Two, I’ve been working on something for all of you as my readers.
It’s coming up to the one-year anniversary of writing this newsletter.
It’s taken a while for this to take shape. I thank you all for hanging in there with me.
I’ve been slowly doing behind-the-scenes housekeeping on here, so you will be seeing positive changes coming shortly.
Also, I will be announcing a new thing for you to read and hopefully enjoy. It won’t be changing this newsletter.
Substack gives writers a lot of things to make reading better. It’s taken a bit of time for me to read and understand what they are and how to use them.
I want you to enjoy subscribing to the newsletter. To be part of what’s going to be happening after the changes.
I will be writing about the various things that will be available to you as I implement them. Pick and choose what you like.
In the meanwhile, enjoy the rest of the Summer. I will keep posting the newsletter until the great reveal time.
Thanks for being a reader.
